Hi all,

I am just starting to tinker and study watches, I came across this sea gull st-19 chrono movement, with second register @ 9 and 30 minute counter @ 3, based on my previous readings it is based on venus 175 chrono movement. I am planning to open it up and service it myself but I was scared of screwing up. My question is, is it exactly the same as venus 175? so I can use step my step Mark's video regarding servicing a chronograph movement? Any tips or things to remember so I can decrease my chances of screwing it up? Hope some members can enlighten me on this. Much appreciated

Get a book on chronometer repair and read it first if you haven't already done so. When you start disassembly, make sure it is screws that you turn and not eccentrics.

I would also suggest to start on less complicated movements first. Something you will not care much -- we always care by the way -- if you screw up. As a beginer, I can say the first ones are always going to be victims no matter how much care!
