If we were to comment here on just 1% of what comes out everyday in high-end horology this forum would soon become the copy of so many drool-inducing luxury blogs.. But some achievements can't be ignored...

Movement mechanical self-winding, extra-thin (3 mm), Cal. 581. 16 lignes. 33 jewels. Numbered and signed Breguet. 80-hour power reserve. Barrel mounted on roller bearings. Inverted lateral lever escapement with silicon horns. Frequency 4 Hz. Silicon balance spring. Tourbillon with titanium carriage. Small seconds on the tourbillon axis.

Breguet... hmmm I think I've heard this name already.

    • Can't do alum as the arbour is metal.  I did try a drill in my dremel. But was unable to hold it secure. Need a lathe. Still thinking about one of those 9 in 1 lathes on Ali.
    • All the seitz anvils and pushers fit the 4mm clone and I use my Star stumps in the clone base as well. Its not a definite answer but Bergeon and Star lathe accessories are compatible so its possible the staking tool is the same fit. Try contacting Cousins for an accurate measurement.
    • Thanks @VWatchie - I didn’t know that, I thought they’d be suitable for wrist watch sized cannon pinions, but maybe not.  What’s your experience of the Bergeon 4733?  Big expense for a set of end cutters with a threaded screw, but no-one else makes them, there aren’t any clones and I might not succeed in my quest to build @Canthus’ toenail clipper tool to do the job.  There’s a B 4733 sitting in my Cousins shopping cart but I’m exploring other options before I buy it.  I’d love to hear your experience of the 4733.
    • Yes, Nev, that’s exactly what’s happening.  The bit is sliding all over the chrome surface and can’t get a bite into the underlying steel.  I’m using a cobalt bit.  I’ve used a punch.  They’re quite the tough toenail clippers.  I might have to dig a bigger pit through the chrome with something else and see if I get some tooth that way. I was hoping there’d be a bit to deal with this, but I’ll keep trying and might swap to a tungsten carbide bit and see if I have any luck.  Thanks for your comments.
    • I can't answer your question right now but I have these in my Seitz jewelling tool and my impression is that they are made for large, pocket watch size, cannon pinions. I prefer the Cannon Pinion Tightening Tool, Bergeon 4733. Perhaps the pusher and stump could be dressed to work better with small and normal cannon pinions!?
