Seiko Kinetic 5M42-0E30.

Recently, amongst a bag of 'job lot' watches, I found a strapless Seiko Kinetic 5M42-0E30 watch. It isn't working and I have no idea what the buttons do. There are four screws on the front which, presumably, give access to the innards.

It appears to have been rather neglected, with some scratches to the case and, as already pointed out, the strap is missing.

Incidently, what is left of the strap seems to indicate that it was leather (Or whatever) and has been cut off.

Has anyone got advice on the way to procede with this watch?

If so, I would be very interested and grateful.

Thanks.

Marc has a video of changing the capacitor on a Seiko Kinetic:

As for getting access that's an interesting question.  Are the screws real?  I guess they may be from the pictures.  Hard to tell on the back with protective plastic still on it but I assume it's a solid back.  Meaning it's actually part of the case?

The Kinetics are fun watches.  I like this one.  Hopefully you can get it running again.  Nice snag!
