Repair & Advice Omega Seamaster 2004

Recommended Posts

Hi All, I am a total newbie to the forum so big hello from Surrey England. I have an Omega seamaster from 2004, with the smaller case size and battery operated. Cost around £1150 at the time. Unfortunately the watch was in a bad fight with me. I beat the watch up bad :( long storey but i damaged it.

Glass fell out,

Bracelet bent,

The small crest for 1 oclock fell and is missing

The minute hand has fallen  - still have this.

It really makes me sad to see the watch the way it is. I took it to Omega, who quoted close to 1K for a repair. They basically would replace everything, facia, glass, glass rubber, bracelet and that is just a quote which is 90% accurate. The amazing thing is that the watch still ticks away on a 10 year battery! I may have to cut my losses and write it off, but im sure you chaps maybe able to recommend a specialist repairer. Some specialised tools maybe? I wouldnt attempt to do this myself more advice needed on specialists out there in the UK.

All the issues you mentioned are no problem to fix usually. Do you have the case number? It should be on your Omega certificate, but you will find it on the inside of the watch back.

But heads up: you might want to deal with this before the Swatch Group kills off genuine Omega parts supply to independent watchmakers sometime next year.

You should be able to get the parts (for now) and fix it. If you don't have all the tools and prefer to get professional to do this for you. You can always get in touch with Mark for a quote I am sure it will be a lot cheaper than what you've been quoted by Omega.

Hi All, Sorry for the late reply and posting the pictures up late. the first two links are duplicates....trying to edit the post but havent found out how to.

So as you can see she is in pretty bad shape.

As already mentioned the braclet strap is bent, so the guides need realigning, the clip is also bent, the links that attach the bracelet to the main casing both seem shot, bent also....
