I would like to see the back plate  to be 100%. If your clock has this type fitted to the top of the back plate then the s/s you will need is something like this, as far as I remember there are three lengths.

This site should help. I would try the one with number 130. Sometimes you have to file the top block to get a better clearance so the s/s hangs down straight and has movement, you don't want it rubbing anything, make sure it goes between the regulator block in the middle slit and not the side ones.   Here is a photo so you can see what I mean. The s/s should be held in place by a steel pin, but the s/s should be able to move on the pin, the pin should be tight in one side on the brass block the other side should just fit in but not to loose.
