Micrometers and calipers

I'm having trouble sourcing a pinion sizing guide for determining replacement (missing) hand sizes. I've seen one in an ebay auction (thanks to the contributor who alerted me to it) and I've contacted the original WIT supplier without result. I need a micrometer as my digital vernier calipers aren't that accurate but suspect that the measuring faces are a bit too big for this purpose. Are the "douxieme" calipers the tool for the job?

This entry field doesn't seem to let me remove the character emboldening...

I doubt that a douzieme gauge is going to have the accuracy of a half decent vernier caliper.

the ideal tool for the job though would be a JKA Feintaster dial gauge which has measuring jaws/surfaces designed specifically with the watchmaker in mind, however they come with a hefty price tag.

Most of the time I find that either calipers (vernier or digital, I use both) or my micrometers are perfectly adequate.
