Hey guys it's been a while since I posted on the forums. Finally had some time to work on a few watches. I recently got a 1978 Seiko 5 in with a 6309 automatic movement. I have heard that the 6309's have a problem with the arbors wearing out either on the top or the bottom. I just serviced mine and it was very clean inside I didn't notice any wear. Now I oiled the top arbor, but I could not tell if I oiled the bottom arbor enough. Will the watch wear out if I wear it once or twice a week? Sorry if this is a funny question I really like this watch and I don't want it to mess up.

edit- Sorry I believe I posted this in the wrong section

It's the bushings that wear out. Mostly in the train wheel bridge. Not that often i the mainplate. And to much oil is no good either. A little HP1300 or D5  will be fine.

The arbor usually is okay? Only the barrel arbor bushing is affected?

Should be fine in your watch and use it as it is no good laying in a box or a drawer.
