How to restore luminesence in a preowned Rolex Yacht Master

Recommended Posts

Recently purchased a pre-owned Rolex Yacht Master 16622 in excellent condition.  It's the first Rolex I've purchased in a long time as I previously favored IWC, Zenith, Breitling models more.  I'm a mostly non-sleeper at night and very frequently check the watch face for the time when I'm often tossing and turning.  I'm perplexed why this watch has lost it's dial brightness in the dark.  When I put it under a bright lamp for a few minutes, it glows wonderfully but dissipates quickly.  What are my options to have the dial glowing again, hopefully without too much major expense?  I believe mine is a 1996 model.

Thanks.

Unsure why it should have faded so soon.

I have an Accurist chrono from the mid '90s and it still glows brightly and lasts for at leaat 8 hours.

I know by reputation only a guy called James Hyman who does superb work.

He's UK based.

You can google "James Hyman watch reluming" to find examples of his work and reviews.
