Pallet staff is?

I now what at pallet fork is but what is a pallet staff? Can you change the staff on a pallet fork?

Just like the balance staff - the pallet staff is the stem that goes through the pallet fork and is the pivot point for the pallets. In many cases the answer is yes - a staff can be turned on a lathe or replaced from stock (e.g. ronda) if available.

I used to have old pallets and staffs that were threaded you could undo the pallets from the staff and fit a new one. Have you come across those Mark.
