Ansonia mantle clock identofication

I have this clock in my loft that belonged to my mum who has recently passed and id be interested to identify it and know more about it if anybody can help?

If it's a simple repair and you or your hubby has an aptitude for mechanics the OH might be able to talk you through it or at least give you good advice on how to go about having it repaired.

No hubby so advice on repair appreciated. If I remember rightly,  I was very young but I think my mum used to have a key to wind the clock up but she had 2 so could be getting mixed up

Could you take a photo of the movement. Is the case wood?

I'll go back into the loft and get a picture.  Its very heavy so don't think its wood

I read they made some out of cast iron, so a possibility as it very heavy.

I expect it is black slate. You are correct Richard some were made cast iron.
