I’m running low on silicone grease and wonder if I could use the contents of this tube instead of ordering silicone grease specifically marketed for rubber gaskets in watches. The substance in the tube is transparent and resembles, for example, Bergeon’s Silicon 7 Sealing Grease but is somewhat “stickier” in consistency. I use it to seal the rubber gasket around the water traps in my home. The price is a really big difference, at least on the surface. Bergeon’s silicone grease costs almost 40 times as much per gram.

It's marketed like this:

  • Clear transparent, with silicone lubrication
  • Lubricating grease and sealant for O-rings and drinking water fittings
  • Hot and cold, -40°C to +200°C
  • Food-grade quality

Am I taking any obvious risks or do you see any disadvantages?
