Hey guys,

Just bought a used 7750 which was taken off a Breitling Chronomat. It needs to be serviced as it is showing signs of age.

Upon closer inspection, I noticed that it has a plastic part. Is this correct? Or should I have it replaced it with the original part during its service?

Thanks,

PHG

I think OP is looking at the brake for the chrono runner visible in his photos, and yes the older ones were in plastic (like the brake Knebo posted, for the hour counter, still in plastic).

I believe in the modern 7750s, the only plastic (delrin) part that's left is the "dog bone". Attempts to replace it with metal have been made, but the results suffered somehow. Everything else is metal in the newer movements. I have a Top grade 7750 in my hands right now, and without disassembling it, there are no plastic parts visible (the "dog bone" lives pretty deep in there up against the main plate under the chronograph second hand wheel.
