Good evening and happy Friday here in South Central Pennsylvania USA!

I have just finished cleaning and lubing a very pretty, white gold cased, ladies watch I won at auction, and it is running like a charm. You could have knocked me over with a feather when I looked at the case back, and saw it engraved with my sister's married name (she never owned the watch!)

The only info I have on it is stamped on the A. Michel 640 movement and reads:

  1. Goldsmith, Stern & Co
  2. Luber Watch Co.
  3. Six 6 Jewels Two 2 Adjustments
  4. Swiss

As you can tell from the picture, the glass crystal is badly scratched and chipped. The dimensions are 16.9mm tall, 10.9mm wide, and the dome is 1.6mm thick. Would anyone have a line on finding a replacement?

Thanks for any assistance.

Sternkreuz T 170x110x…

Thank you for your reply, but I'm sorry, I am not understanding what you are saying. Obviously, a manufacturer and size, but could anyone suggest a retail outlet to purchase?

Sternkreuz is the make and T 170x110x is the size. As you are in America you need to find a watch material supplier near you. It doesn't have to be Sternkreuz all you need is the size.

That type of watch is known as a Ladies dress watch probably from the 1920's to early 1930's

@oldhippy LOL, I figured out it was a ladies watch from the 1920's to early 1930's all by myself 🙂 .

I was hoping maybe someone might have more insight as to the history, but it's all good.

I really appreciate the comments and help both you and @RichardHarris123 provide here. You guys are the best, or at least a good approximation thereof. 😜

Thanks again for the help!

this is from an older G&S catalog, these are plastic type, the other is an old Perfit catalog that was glass crystals.....there are a lot of old systems out there and one can be found or cut to fit...some of the G&S are close to your dimensions, most times they are not exact ....
