Can anyone please share the catalog pages for the 1910 model? I wonder if the part is somewhat interchangeable, thus increasing my chances of finding it. If you know what that part is, even better, I wonder if there are other models that have that same wheel, but with the S37 size it is unlikely.

unfortunately 37 size watches usually have parts larger than other watches and the ability to interchange with anything in the universe is nonexistent almost probably. Then parts catalogs in 1948 was scanned in some incredibly high resolution with the incredibly huge file size which is why no one in their right mind is going to attach it to anything as huge PDFs clutter up the message board. To get anything that was it resembling readable I had to increase the file size and it still isn't the best and it is a rather huge file for just four pages. I think my copy was purchased off of eBay somebody probably had a disk of stuff.

Repivotting is an option but you'll need the tools and a lathe

Actually, as the wheel is big, it is possible to repivot it without special tools. Just good hand drill needed and proper drill bit of the correct size, close to the pivot size. If needed, I will explain how and show some pictures.

...When I remove the pallet form and give it just a bit of a wind, the train spins nicely, even with just a bit of a touch to either of the two mainspring barrels - yep, it has two!...

Well, this statement brought all of us to delusion. It appears now that the train was blocked by the wheel with broken pivot

There is a 1940 parts catalog  viewable via this page, though it's not downloadable and a real pain to read..

https://pocketwatchdatabase.com/reference/catalogs

I found an alternate link with direct access to each section, this is the Automobile & 8 day link:

https://pocketwatchdatabase.com/guide/company/waltham/catalogs/waltham-watch-co-material-catalog-1940/40

Part number 28172 found me a set of wheels on ebay! Now I wait for delivery and will update the forum once I plug in the new wheel.

Does this have the same movement?

I will try to buy this one if my wheel purchase does not work out. Escapement parts look good and it is indeed th same model - 1910.

The new wheel is in, but the watch still stops:( Before I touch the bankin pins, I will strip it once more and clean both barrels to make sure the springs are giving it all the power they can.

I haven't followed the discussion in detail, but I'm thinking that you must try to locate the source(s) of the problem. If the problem is that the barrels aren't clean enough that's what you need to do, but I would say that is the least likely source of your problem. Analyse the watch in function groups as show by Kalle Slaap.

Triumph! As many have suggested escapement was the culprit. Despite the pictures looking good, I started to examine each piece independently and when each piece worked separately, I finally got a closer look at the balance wheel and touched the impulse jewel. Although it looked right, it wobbled on me.

I have since shellacked it in place and the watch is running nicely again!

Thank you for all your help. Lesson learned - examine typical suspsects first and up close.

    • Righty ho, I re-serviced the chrono module and got a reasonable result with minimal loss of amplitude when not running the chrono and about 30 degrees loss when running. Great. The problem is now that the chrono (and movement) stops running after about a minute or so, a tap on the watch starts it running again. No issues with the movement running when the chrono is stopped. Going to service it yet again, obviously some residual issues with friction in the chrono module (Very frustrating - I wish there was some way of testing it as I go!) I also seem to have a problem with the cannon pinion where the movement is running continuously (with the chrono stopped) but it's losing significant time / stopping. This is one of those two piece ETA style with a driving wheel pressed over the cannon pinion, obviously arranged for driving the chrono module. I had no issues with this prior to service and just added a small amount of grease between the driving wheel and the centre cannon pinion as the technical guide required. What's the best way of tightening these up? I would like to replace it but I guess this is going to be hard to find as it is dedicated to the DD chrono movement.
    • He uses the micrometer cap, but he leaves the spring out (you can see that in the video). If you leave the spring in, the spindle will move up as well (as shown by @Knebo).
    • Seems like he doesn't have the micrometer cap  attached to the spindle so he can only push down but cannot pull up? If the cap screws into the spindle I guess you don't need the spring? I only have a "normal" Seitz so I really have no idea.
    • Do you have a part number for the bearing shim lock tool?
    • Yes in my opinion the 3/4HP is plenty but it’s your decision & yes it does come with speed control but foot operation so my reason for changing to potentiometer was because my leg shakes so it was like me revving the lathe & anyway I prefer to set the speed. I & a few others that I recommended the motor to run a Pultra 10mm lathe so if you have a 6 or 8mm B & L then it will be plenty, if you have seen any of my videos you will have seen that when using a graver I run quite slow without any problems.
