Hi,

I’ve just found this forum. I’ve recently started looking at repairing a couple of watches. They are Smiths with a Cal 602 movement. I have purchased some basic tools. I started looking at watches as I was tired of paying circa £50 to have a battery put into my 90’s Gucci watch. I went into putting other batteries in which I know is not a big deal but it lead me to look at these mechanical watches. It had taken me nearly two weeks so refit the gear train and tbe bridge on the Cal 602 with tbe click spring on tbe bridge looming nearly impossible. Tonight I may have cracked it but the click spring seems a bit loose. I’m looking forward to progressing and I will ask for help I know. This is alien to me as this is the opposite of anything I’ve been involved in but I am enjoying it.
