I need some advise on a Tissot 709-2 I am servicing for someone.

Firstly this was a non-runner when I received the watch. I ran through the motions and got the watch working again replacing the mainspring and got good horizontal results but a large drop in vertical. I took it apart again made sure to polish the pivots and look for wear I might have missed and then went through the motions again.

While the daily rate is acceptable and could probably be finessed over the coming week, i'm not entirely convinced with the vertical amplitude.

Dial up - +19 / 299° / 0.1ms

Dial Down - +8 / 299° / 0.3ms

9H - +25 / 222° / 0.1ms

6H - +14 / 225° / 0.2ms

Note - I did notice a tiny bit of wear on outer balance wheel so this could be the cause but i am having issues finding a suitable replacement which is either new or in better condition. The watch has also run for a week now to see if it did gain amplitude.

Would the people of this forum be happy with these results?

I am going to talk with the person I serviced it for to advise them that the wear to the watch over the years has had an impact on the durability and due to availability of parts this is current standard.

Are you not set up to poise the balance?
