How to Replace Carbon Fiber Tips on Horotec MSA 12-714 Tweezers

Recommended Posts

Have any of you found a way to replace the carbon fiber tips on the Horotec MSA 72-714 aluminum tweezers.

The tweezers are lightweight aluminum the studs that hold in the tips aren't yielding to gently force. I tried pushing the studs simultaneously. I also tried prying with on the side with a case knife.

I know from past experience that too much force usually breaks something.

Thanks!

Update: Installation of tips. One of my suppliers, Esslinger.com, suggested a pair of specialty pliers (#1 Conner Bead Setting and Stone Setting Pliers 4) to install the metal clips.

The metal clips are sold separately from the tips should you damage one during installation.

The countersunk holes on the tweezers help to center the clips onto the studs on the tips.
