I am servicing  a ETA 2750 . Have come to take the mainspring out when i notice a crack in the barrel . Yippie- kai-yey. Haven't actully done anything.with it .Just inspecting the barrel by turning it around .So must have cracked before . I can see a litte rust in the cracked

What to do .I have a 2783 barrel that looks the same outside .But how does it look on the inside?  Can i use that barrel With the 2750 mainspring ?Or do i have to turn the world upside down for a  2750 barrel .Or complete 2750  barrel with mainspring? So i am not risk any more cracks when assemble?

For ETA movts...the movt number will indicate the 'family' eg 27xx series of movt.

Generally parts will be interchangeble but you need to watch out for different jewelling counts and possibly in this case, if there any complications which would require additional power from a stronger mainspring.

I would just measure the barrel dimensions, arbor dimensions and compare the mainsprings...if all matches then you're good.

I had a barrel from a 2783 but that didn't work! Same other dimensions but not the same inside the barrel . The 2783 is a automatic! And the 2750 is a manual .The 2783 barrel is constructed for a slipping spring .The 2750 barrel has cracked at the thinnest part where the spring ends . I can use the same mainspring from the 2750 . But need to find a new barrel .
