Unitas 6565

Hello all. 

What does anyone know about the Unitas 6565. It's the movement in my 99p limit watch.  Most of my 404 club watches have been very poor quality.  You might notice something missing, some idiot snapped the stem removing the very tight back. I'll leave it to you to decide who that idiot was, hehe. Running well.

What's interesting when I see the name and a quick look at the watch I think of the pocket watch movements they make as it sort of looks like that until I realized it's not sized like a pocket watches it? Then as a parts list and no indication that things have been discontinued yet which is typically what happened when I look for watches on the website.

Cheers John.  I couldn't find much information on the 6565 but I have just read the history of Unitas, I now know why you thought of pocket watches.

 A work horse for sure and 6565 was cased in both gents and ladies watches.

Standard grade were put in chromed base metal cases thus not many original cases are around,  your watch looks better than average.

Market value is about $35 ( just so you dont overspend on parts).

That dial is a dead ringer for my grandfather's Sekonda. I might be able to sort you a stem out Rich. In Barcelona this week but as soon as i get home i will route through my stock for it, remind me.

Cheers, I've already ordered one, only £6 with delivery. I thought I was past the breaking things stage.  Hehe.

I have just enough stem to get hold of but it is tight.  I going to try the Coca-Cola trick.

Is the remaining bit of stem stopping the case coming out ?

I haven't got that far, the Boss is home.  Shouldn't be a problem though.
