Thanks I just bought some for about $17 shipped from China. Then realized the next listing could ship from the USA instead. Here's hoping they don't ask me for another $30 when mine arrive.

Hi, Would anybody be able to offer some insight as to a possible solution here? When I first opened this watch a while back I thought it was just the end of the ridge and the 'chrome' that had worn away, but taking a look today I see it's worn away the brass to a reasonable extent. Torque comes on the crown wheel, it lifts up and separates from the winding pinion. Is this just a case of replace the mainplate if I want to keep the watch? All the best, John

Can you not remove the pin from the existing spring and just use that? I think if you did something like this you'd need to make sure the piece you cut off was long enough so the thickness didn't interfere with the stud staying in the hole.
