1930s "Jumbo" swiss pocket watch bezel removal

I'm sure that some of the experts on this forum will have worked on one of these before -

I've been asked to service it. It's obviously a front loader but it's not obvious how the bezel comes off. There is no lip anywhere around the bezel suggesting it can be prized off, and it doesn't unscrew freely. The glass is acrylic. Can anyone advise me if it's likely to pop off with a blade or is likely to be screw fit. I'm afraid to mar it!
