Problem with 1990 Rotary watch

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have a Rotary watch, which I've had since new (1990), and it ha started jumping 4 seconds at a time but still maintaining the correct time.  Unfortunately I don't have the instructions anymore, which is most unlike me.  Also, I assume it has a battery, although I don't believe I have ever changed one. Can anybody tell me if the problem is just a new battery or something else?

Hi Depending on the movement fitted to the watch a 2 sec jump or a 4 sec jump is idictative of the battery getting towards the end of life and needs replacing.  never leaave a dead battery in a watch as they degrade and leak and corrode the metal contacts and in a worst case the entire watch.
