The springs I talk about are long strips of steel sheet, they have suitable shape to make the verge. You will need just to bend to shape using the original as template and then cut and grind the tips and drill holes for the bearing rivet and the leader. -
Brand new from Cousins. The balance wheel is a totally different size, too big to fit the movement. Tried transferring the hairspring to the original balance, hence the rapid gain. Yes, all screws fitted and the balance setup properly in beat.

I might have a 1mm drill bit somewhere I'll have a hunt tomorrow. If not I have some bits of electrical wire knocking about I could try for size and measure with my calipers. In the meantime by carefully prizing out the wavy spring from the bezel, carefully bending it a little at each point and a little trial and error I've managed to get to fit better. Though it now spins like one of those fidget spinners! Love to get the click back.

I've never seen a mainspring like that either. -
I swapped the incabloc setting with one I had from a donor that was missing the jewel. And here is the next interesting thing - never seen a mainspring SO broken! This probably means I am not finishing this watch this weekend!
