Seiko bellmatic

Hi was wondering if anyone could help me. I just serviced a Seiko bellmatic and everything is good except the alarm spring just spins with the crown. There is nothing stopping it like the click spring. Any suggestions welcome.

I have a couple of these, but I haven't serviced them for a while. 

The service guide explains that the "Intermediate wheel rocker for alarm" acts as the click.

I assume you were working from the service guide ? If not, I've attached it : 4006A.pdf

Does the spring gain any tension when you try to wind it? Do you see the complete spring spinning with the arbor or does just the arbor spin freely.

In the section of service guide I posted above, it notes that the alarm spring will not wind if the alarm button is pulled out.

Thank you so much everyone for your great input. I found out what the problem was. The alarm bolt yoke Wich holds the alarm hammer was kicking out to far. It would not hold the hammer so it would just wind and release. Thanks again.

I just remembered that I had exactly this problem when I serviced my first one. When I figured out the problem I wrote a note on the pic for future reference
