    My friend ebay again

That is awesome. I love clocks and the different stories the tell. I will keep looking for a long case to work on. I love the amount of knowledge you have with clocks. I love the eBay questions. Keep up the good work. When I posted on this thread none of the other comments showed up, till I posted. I was a little too late. Ha ha.

    My friend ebay again

I haven't worked on any longcase Clocks yet. But everything about this clock seems wrong the case looks newer and the movement something out of Frankenstein. It looks like parts don't belong. The case looks like the door won't close because it's too long up top. I can't wait to see what it is. I didn't see the pendulum. If it was as old as they say, the pendulum would be amazing and I would rip the door off to see it. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    To stupid for words

Good thing they didn't list it as a drum machine
  9. Thank you soo much noirrac1j. I finished it. Had some trouble with the spring shooting across the room. Found it about half an hour later with a giant magnet. Used peg wood to make sure it didn't fly off the next go around. You rock! could not have done it with out the detailed photos. Here it is complete.

    Rolex Real or Fake

Fake. Dial, the second hand looks wrong. It looks like an invicta with a Rolex dial.

    Some Of My Watch Lathes

That is an awesome!! I'm trying to find a lathe too. I recently ran into a problem with screws for an invicta watch that were stripped and missing some length. I thought to myself if I had a lathe I would have just made four new screws. If any one knows of a lathe for a beginner let me know. Thanks Jeremy.
  13. Absolutely awesome. Congrats on your 1000 post. I'm going to go through all of them, I'm addicted. Keep up the good work.
  14. I just wanted to share one of the tools I picked up on eBay for a hundred and fifty US dollars. The mainspring winder by favorite. The tool is one of my "favorites". The watch maker that owned it took great care of it. I love the dust cover.

    What the ?

    Someone is getting rich.
  16. Hi my name is Jeremy. I'm new to this and already addicted. My fascination with watches started with my grandfather. I never got to meet him but he gave my father a Seiko 17j automatic. He told my dad to give it to me when I turned eighteen. My dad told me it didn't need batteries, it was an automatic. I was hooked. As a kid I always like to take things apart but never seemed to put them back together. Two years ago I purchased a bucherer chronometer. I didn't know much about them but knew what I found was nice especially for 40 us dollars. I took it to a jeweler and asked him how much it would be for a cleaning. He said six hundred dollars. That it was a similar movement as Rolex. My mind was blown. Last year I saved some money and was going to buy a Rolex. The more I thought about it the more didn't want to be like everyone else I wanted something different. I wanted to eventually build my own from parts. Now I have a bunch of tools,a watch bench, and an ultrasonic cleaner and a zenith watch cleaning machine. I don't have a watch lathe, or a bushing machine but plan on getting those next. I use to be addicted to prescription pills they almost ruined my life. Now I'm addicted to watches and working on them. I feel so calm when I work with such small parts and when I put them all together and there is life, it makes me feel alive. I also love the history and story behind every watch. Thank you all. Jeremy.

I have this bucherer watch and was wondering how to open it. It doesn't have a groove or any place to pry. Any suggestions?
