Stabilizing the balance cock while removing the balance and hairspring (removing stud, and turning the shoe) is always challenging for me because of stabilization.

I think I have solved this today.

I printed this multi-hole base to mount the balance cock and using brass tapered pins I do the stabilization.

My example here is probably the optimal case because the cock has two holes (balance for a Vulcain Cricket 120). 

I will report back on success with single-hole cocks.
