Help opening a Roamer case

I haven't been successful opening this Roamer Brevete case. It's a split stem and I figured it is a front loader but when I tried to remove the crystal with a crystal lift it doesn't come out. I've cranked as hard as I can on the lift but I think that the reflector ring doesn't allow the crystal to compress.

I've seen some of these Brevete's that you can push the crystal and everything comes out of the back, but I've applied significant pressure to the crystal and it isn't budging.

Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong or how to get the movement out?

Turns I needed to use more than "significant" force and Signficant+® force did the trick
