Ah yes Magnetism can be a watchmakers friend ,in more ways than one. Picking up lost parts and to get to work........magnet-charley.gif.cc397580266c5afc25236cb744c4636f.gif

I have a similar mat that had a magnet or two embedded to hold screws for electronics assembly. Magnets were embedded in the solicone under specific trays. An exacto knife made quick work of them. I got it when I was starting out thinking all the compartments would be good to hold parts while I worked, but the way I ended up finding a good flow doesn't use them at all. Eventually, I may replace it with something simpler down the road, but the impetus is low since it doesn't cause any trouble.

What is that mat made of?

I got a giant cutting mat on about that scale to replace the silicone mat, but it stank deep in my sinuses from across the house. I've washed it several times, and it's been hanging out in the barn for nearly two years while whatever it is finishes off gassing (assuming it ever does).
