On a Sekonda quartz watch I carefully set the date to click over, then set the hands at twelve. However, the date does not change until the six o'clock position. Can there be any rational reason for this. I haven't messed with anything else knowingly.

Perhaps you rotated the watch 180 after flipping the date and before setting the hands.  Was you doing this at 2am and feeling sleepy like I normally do?
