Hello, I have would like to see if anyone would have a Peseux 170 or 190 breguet style balance complete?

I am servicing this movement which came to me not running but I suspected a good overhaul and new mainspring and all would be well.  I noticed that the hairspring was not in the regulator pins but I thought it could have just needed some slight adjustment.  My hairspring is a flat standard type and when in the proper flat position, the regulator pins aren't long enough to reach the hairspring.  The watch was bought second hand by this new owner, who sent it to me for repair.  So, he doesn't know the history of prior repair activities.  I suspect that the incorrect balance complete could have been ordered and was just left as is.

I know that this model came with both std and breguet.  My watch is a non shock resistant one.

The image with the green background is from my watch.  The other is from a model 190 that is breguet and is like what I need.  I feel that the breguet would allow for the hairspring to engage the regulator pins due to the fact that it would be an overcoil.  https://watchguy.co.uk/service-timor-peseux-190/

I have checked all of my known suppliers here in the States and have reached out to Cousins who only have the standard model.  I will post a screenshot of my assembled watch shortly.

Thanks for all responses.

Some photos

The picture below, you can see to the right of the mainspring, this is the nice sliver of metal shaving shim that I found under the balance bridge on disassembly.

You can see here that I have mounted the stud fairly high so the spring can at least be contained in the tip of the regulator pins.  This is causing the hairspring to become out of level.  Definitely why I suspect the overcoil spring is the proper one for this moment and balance bridge.

I would expand your search to brands like Mido, caravelle, Gerard perregeux....

as there are specially made Peseux variants so there are no shock and different shock systems, therefore different staffs, which can explain why the cock in you watch was shimmed.

Hi George,

the 2-pins regulator shows that your watch needs a Breguet hairspring. It should be possible to make one from your flat hairspring. However that is one of the most difficult tasks in watchmaking.

The shape of the coil is determined by the "coil-no.". It is the ratio of regulator pins distance from center by radius of the flat hairspring x 100. Yours will be around 80. There are tables showing the right coil shape for each number.

Do you feel the balance out of your watch accomodates an overcoil?

I gather not , when you say you need the other type and the cock in your watch was shimmed !

Staffs for Peseux 190 come in four different sizes,  the balance you have is unlikely to be the correct size. You need to know which staff is correct for your watch  before you buy a complete balance or build one.
