Can anyone tell me how to remove the crown from this pocket watch? I've tried undoing the screws and I've tried pulling with some forced its no success. T's the type that is to be pulled out for the setting position. I can't see anything from the dial side either.

Hi Paul,

First you remove the front bezel with the crystal, the movement should come out the front leaving the stem still in the case when you remove the screws that retain the movement. Gently ease the movement out from the bottom of the case. There is no screw like you find in wrist watches. :-)

Is the stem an integral part of the movement - or of the case? On my American watches, the case screws free the movement from the case, then the crown is pulled upwards and the movement slips out of the case and away from the stem. The crown and stem, in this instance, are part of the case.

I see yours is a Swiss watch, so it may be a different design.

Ah Geo - we cross-posted!
