Hi all.

I am doing a refurb of my sons Seiko and it has a few issues that need replacement parts. This is a bit of a long shot, but I am trying to source a replacement crystal for it as his is quite badly scratched. It would be nice to have an original Seiko part, which I think is a low-domed Hardlex, but I but I don’t know where I might source one. Or is the only option now (it’s a 2006 watch) a generic replacement?

Also the clasp is broken and as it’s an integrated bracelet, I am having trouble finding spares for it. Again, anyone have any hints as to where spares might be found?

the watch itself is fine, just needs a new battery and reseal, but a quick trawl around eBay is not giving much in the way of results on spares. Anyone know of a source of spare part information for these older Seikos?

Mine is the black dialed version, but in all other respects is the same watch.

Happy New Year to all here.

Even if badly scratched an hardlex crystal can be polished perfectly, there are many topics on the subject. Crystal P/N is 330PA2HN02. There is no magic place to source parts, all you can do is search on the Internet.

Hi, and thanks for the reply. I know there in no magic Santa sack of bits, but I also know, that other people sometimes know more than I do about where some of them may yet be found. I will certainly have a look at how to refinish a Hardex as a first base, thanks for the tip.

Hi   you could try the SCWF site which is exclusively seiko citizen watches. I have attached three tech docs apertaining to the 7T92 which may be some use to you.

7630_Seiko 7T62A, 7T92A, 7T94A Part 1 of 3.pdf 796.35 kB · 1 download 7631_Seiko 7T62A, 7T92A, 7T94A Part 2 of 3.pdf 666.53 kB · 1 download 7632_Seiko 7T62A, 7T92A, 7T94A Part 3 of 3.pdf 825.18 kB · 1 download

Excellent, and thank you for the docs. Once the Xmas “cheer” has worn off a bit, I may even be tempted to have a go at a clean and re-lube. Done a few manuals but not tried a quartz yet as I have never had one that was worth the time and effort.

Best wishes for 2020.

George.

I have seen domed sapphire crystals on alixepress. Truth is, polishing takes time and a bit of equipment, which can be avoided in many cases.

I agree. Having now looked at the process for Hardlex, it seems a lot of work and not by any means, always good results. I think I’ll just take out the old one and measure it to see what replacements I can find.

cheers and thanks for the replies.

George
