Merry Christmas From The Philippines!

I think I have a twin of your watch, rebuilt recently from a non running ebay purchase. I kept the bezel insert since it shows some character and harmonizes with the overall looks.

In any case, I wouldn't know at this point from the SKX reference, but it is (still is) and 7S26-0030!

Welcome to the forum twin Seiko owner! :)

Cheers,

Hi there yup they do look the same to me too but mine says 7s26-0020 instead of 7s26-0030:)

But hey thanks for the welcome:) And that is really great what you did with your watch:)

Here in the Philippines we have some of the great watch restorers around, especially with seiko. I am sure you are familiar with Mang Loy?

Here in my province there is a watch repairer in town who buys supposedly brand new casings for seiko dive watches and fits them with overhauled 7s26 movements. And you can't almost see the difference from the original. Don't know where they get these "brand new cases". But testing these cobbled pieces to specs like it's water resistance rating of 200 m it is a wonder that these could match the originals. Really great craftsmen these people are:)

@blacklab: That is correct Roger. I have bought a lot from him lately. You can say it is my source of training materials. :)

@tkd: Sorry, I'm not familiar with the person. I'm sure those restorations are something and a wealth of knowledge if they ever disclose/publish what they do to fix and restore. In any case, since yours is a 0020 (bigger case) I got its little brother (medium case) :)

Cheers,

Bob
