Good evening all.

I am having a little issue diagnosing what the likely fault is with a watch that houses an ETA 2824-2 movement. The timegrapher readings are fine until I turn the watch to the crown down position. The reading on crown down position is good in terms of amplitude and beat but as you can see in the pictures the line drops suddenly from time to time.

Could anyone help to shine any light on this? Maybe someone has had a similar reading and found the fault?

Help much appreciated.

Many thanks

David

The numbers displayed are averages (I think) so those gaps are actual readings of an intermittent beat error. If they happen at regular intervals, you might look at the escape wheel for dirt or a hair.

Have you got a very short sample time set on the timegrapher?  Setting a longer sample period, say 20 or 30 secs may give a continuous trace.  Just a thought.
