Well done Lawson. It's a Boley Lienen I have myself. You will find it becomes a bit of an obsession searching for accessories, even if you are unlikely to need them. I would suggest that you can find a good watchmakers three jaw chuck for it as the accuracy and quality will be better than the type that is fitted.

I look forward to further reports in the future. :-)

WRT,

Now you have a lathe (2) the tool purchase saga will start all over again. However a fascinating part of watch repair that requires skill & many hours of practice but can be very rewarding.

Awesome and congratulations, my friend, hope to hear more about your experiences with it!

Cheers,

now the next step is working on getting your gravers sharp. i got no where in the beginning as they werent sharp enough. i actually made a new hand boss for a pocket watch today as i got my headstock back from cowells.

... another person to bid against for the 8mm stuff... great :)

Good luck, your gonna get hooked pretty quickly!

I found to get the new gravers in shape and correct angle I used a crocker.

After that, keeping them sharp is a simple fine hone to keep the burrs off the edges. Razor sharp gravers is one of the key elements to success.
