Removing a stem from a quartz watch

My father-in-law gave me a quartz watch of his that has the minute hand fallen off.  No problem, I thought.  I can get that back on.

Well, no I can't.  I can't see how to remove the stem from the movement.  I can remove stems from ETA mechanical movements all day long.  This quartz movement has be stumped.

Is there a trick peculiar to quartz movements that I just don't know about?

I believe they generally have a hole in the back plate area, near the stem, that you have to depress with a pin or small screwdriver while you pull out the stem. That said, they are not all the same. If you post an image of the movement you'll get more useful help. Good luck.
