Do you know a less expensive source for top grade movements?

Sorry, I don't.  Swatch Group (owner of ETA) has recently tightened the supply of movements to third parties, so the prices for ETA are high.   Sellita is a cheaper 'Swiss' alternative to ETA but it's my understanding that a percentage of components that go into Selita movements are made in Asia and with the movements assembled in Switzerland.

Selitta makes movements for ETA. They're almost identical save a few improvements. ETA locking things down is correct, which is why I was surprised and pleased to be able to find top grade ETA movements from that seller. I got the Selitta SW200, and I would have got the SW500 if I could have found one. Had to go with the ETA 7750, because it's what was available. I'm just glad it was.
