Well, since I took up this incredible hobby anyhow?
Which wasn't that long ago...
...but the important thing is, I've found WRT, and joined a community of excellent people.
I have a few rebuilds/repairs/projects under my belt, and several in progress right now. It was a fortuitous break that one of those projects led me here. From what I have seen in the forums, many of the tricky bits I have run into are common to lots of us!
Watch repair intimidated me at first glance, in spite of the fact that I have always had excellent mechanical aptitude and interest, and have a great deal of experience repairing electronics on a tiny scale. It was Mark's videos which gave me the confidence to have a go. Excellent production, skilled workmanship, and quality narration. Add to that some of the exquisite movements, and we have entertainment value on top of it all (AKA watch porn).
I had no idea how many busted watches were in that long forgotten drawer, but in a relatively short time, most of them have since been returned to life as productive time keeping machines. Nicely rewarding feeling, that. My confidence is growing, and I am eager to continue to learn and improve. I hope that I will be able to add meaningfully to the community, and I look forward to sharing my experiences with everyone here.
Thanks to everyone here for sharing, and a personal thank you to Mark. Skill and quality at your level is truly inspirational, and a privilege to witness. I am grateful.
