Probably a bit late for this, but I couldn't find it earlier.

At $5 a piece, is not much money saved. Beside, actually they have different uses, the Jaxa opens and closes just fine a good 90% of screw back watches, and is much more practical and handy to use. No hobbyist should be without one.

Using a mainspring winder with T end Springs works great if you remember to leave a little bit of the spring out. so insert starting with the little bit of spring sticking out first in the barrel followed by the winder. Rotate until the T is over the hole. Then using, I usually use a large screwdriver push until the T is in the hole. Because if you don't get it in first it will not just magically pop in place all by itself. Then pushing on the T holding it in place you can now push the spring out and it will stay word supposed to be.

Hello everyone. Old man, but new to tinkering with watches. Always liked them, and always wanted to take them apart. Hopefully put them back together I find it sort of meditative when I work on the watches. Totally different from my day job. Great to be here amongst all you great and knowledgeable folks.

Yes, watch repair can be very Zen. At least, until the part pings across the room, then it becomes something else

Dear all...finally i can give an update on my seiko divers 4205. My watchis working well now after changing exact movement that i bought from Perrin, notwithstanding i am not really sure about the authenticity of the movement because the signed Seiko wordings on its rotor isn't as clear as the original (you can see from the picture attached), otherwise it works well. After i tested the watch to run for more than 48 hours to make sure all hands working properly after reassembly, then i decided to also changed the worn out bezel to a black with gold markers. My this vintage watch looks cool now even with both options (bracelet or nato strap) see pictures. Thank you very much for all WRT members whom gave me an input and share your thoughts earlier.
