I have a 1984 Seiko Quartz divers watch. I am replacing the day and date advance finger wheels but I am afraid that the click spring for the date wheel is to strong which will cause damage to the new fingers because of the pressure. Or the finger will not be able to advance the wheel.

What makes you think that the spring will be too strong?

Welcome to the forum, I could have done with you last week when decorating my dining room!

Welcome to the forum Paperhanger. I don't think the spring will be too strong but make sure it moves freely by hand since some of them tend to get "stuck" on assembly with other parts that go on top depending on the model.

I agree with Bob on this, the spring may not be sitting correctly, or is overlapping the jumper.

Quartz watch are very low powered and theres not much power available to change the date...

pics would help!
