Any cannon pinion advice

Hi All

i have been given a watch (AS5008) - I seem to keep getting these, but that's ok as I love the movement, complex, but lovely

The canon pinion appears to be ceased, as the watch runs fine but can not be set. I have stripped the watch and everything is fine except the the cannon pinion will not slip when attempting to change the time, luckily it has not been forced so there is not damage to the escape or pallet

Any advice on removing the cannon pinion and cleaning it / reassembly would be greatly appreciated

You could try a little heat. Maybe a soldering iron. Could be congealed grease and a bit of heat could melt it.

I sorted it, the cannon pinion remover would not grip the cannon pinion

i end up using a pin vice to grip the cannon pinion, (same jaws as the pinion remover, but smaller), and removed it

cleaned it all and gently lubed it, put it back together and it sorted
