Hello all

In watching Marks excellent videos on crystal replacement I still am not sure on sizing the gasket based on a crystal you already have, but do not want to use or don't have access to, the OEM gasket.

My question is that if I wish to purchase an I ring gasket, say for example a 315 as measured crystal, and say the gadget seat ID measures 322, do I order just a 322x 315? Or do I order a 322 x314 so the crystal has .1 of compression ? What are the general rules of thumb to use as a "starting point". This would be in the context of a sapphire or mineral crystal in a diver with an I or L ring. I'm good with the methods of other crystal types. Thanks in advance

Do not calculate compression. Just add the gasket width to crystal width, sum has to be case width. Diver, sapphire, gasket type doesn't matter.
