A Question Of Hands

Recommended Posts

I installed a new Citizen 6031A movement to this watch. I also requested new hands. I told the supplier to send hands that this movement will accomodate. Once I install the hands, they are loose and just dance around the dial. Now the dial has no dial feet so I added dial dots to secure it to the movement. That is how the watch was when it was brought in. I initially used the original hour wheel then the new dial wheel with the same results. I am wondering if I have missed something or if the supplier sent the incorrect hand size. If I need new hands, is there a measurement they need?

Thanks

As far as I am aware this movement has the following hand sizes:

Hour: 120 (1.2mm)

Minute: 70 (0.7mm)

Seconds: 17 (0.17mm)

If your hands are only slightly loose then you can close the holes with the hole closing punch in your staking set (Minute). And for the hour, if it has a pipe then mount it in a pin vice and tighten the pipe. Not all hour hands have a pipe but most do.

I hope this helps.
