Case opening

Hi 

Can anyone advise me on the best way to remove a snap on front to a watch , I've opened the back ok but the relief on the front is tight and I'm worried I'll scratch it , I know it's a basic question but new to this and just wondered if there are any tricks or best tools I've got a case knife but it's quite wide

One sided razor blade to start, then case knife.

another idea,  carve a slot i  your bench (or block )  so the watch is  held on edge .    anyway,  good luck  -- not too much blood on the work bench.  vinn
