I required a small compression spring for an Omega pusher and could not source one on the net. So after a good trawl on EBay I picked up twenty small springs for £4.50. I knew that they were twice the length that I required, but no problem there, just cut to length.

The major problem was the outside diameter was 0.03 mm too big. My solution was to put the spring in a lathe collet and use this to compress the spring to the correct diameter. It worked a treat and now I have a fully function pusher for one tenth the cost of a new one!
