Can anyone identify this? It's from a pocket watch, measures 38.4mm or 17'", and is stamped with the AS logo. It has number 7 stamped under the balance. Overall the movement looks clean and works well, except the balance staff is broken. This will be my first attempt at restaffing a balance, so it'd be nice to find a replacement.

So all these AS are from the same family.

And at least these share the same staff so what dimensions can you take from the old staff?

184 looks to be right.

I got to play with my new staking set, successfully retrieved the old staff, and measuring with callipers came pretty close to those numbers. Cousins have them - it’s in the basket.

Thanks all for your help.

Usually with things like a balance staff a micrometer is better than calipers. Then coming pretty close sounds nice here what I read it but in real life may not be close enough. Suggest they careful when you're putting things back together that if anything seems too tight don't force it or you'll probably break something.
