Identification of maker

Hi, nice carriage clock here but at some point the manufacturer has flaked off the dial or being injudictiously cleaned.

Any old owls care to take a punt on who it is?

That is not the makers name but the shops name that sold it. If I can see the back plate it might have something also can I see the platform as well.

I have read conflicting articles, some suggest, they make clocks, some, just jewelers.

One of the ways you might be able to see what is on the dial is with an ultraviolet light. I know it works on Longcase dials.
