It’s a term I have read in books Andy, midcase as it sits between the other 2 parts of the case, bezel and caseback.

Tom

OK so it's a case (no pun intended) of Pleonasm which I'm sure @Neverenoughwatches knows all about.

Annnd then I got bored 🙂

I got told the cure for boredom is curiosity and there's no cure for curiosity, hence the start of watch repair.

Ya that’s what it was referred to in the posting. As I’m new to this I’m still learning some of the terminology.

@Neverenoughwatches I definitely think it’s not for everyone and I know with the older watches there’s a good chance they can’t be fixed but I do find it very relaxing and find movements fascinating so don’t mind spending my free time on possibly a lost cause. I have managed to get one working so far, just waiting on day and date discs. I’ve just gone a bit nuts buying older watches and from what I’ve found so far the balance is the most delicate part, not always the case I imagine. So I’ve seen reference to having an anvil or staking set for balances. As I’m new to this I’d there anything I should definitely have for trying to repair balances
