Hello to all, i'm new here but have already a question. I have a fusee clock that need some love. It has no string but a steel cable with solder dots at the end.

The cable was broken so i took it apart and cleaned it all so now its time to put it together. I found here a topic by Tmuir about this clock but nothing about mounting the fusee cable. Because there is no blocking on the barrel i don't no how to assemble and wind the cable. Thanks and greetings,Jan.                              ( i copied pics from Tmuir)

I'm in agreement of the others, if this is your clock though that barrel cap needs a lot of work to clean it up and get it sorted, but for the cable it would feed into the barrel then out then back in but feed the end through the loop that has just gone into the barrel. Then pull it tight to neaten it up.

You will need to take the fusee cone apart to fit the new line and then to the barrel. I would use nylon coated line to seal the ends you just burn the ends and it will mold into a sealed end. The barrel has had a strap added as the barrel has cracked. The winding key end of the cone has a lot of wear in the hole and will need re-bushing. This is not a highgrade movement.

Here is some info of the makers of your clock
