Strange stake

I have this stake in my my staking set. It has a relatively pointy domed end and an angled pin sticking out the side. This pin is ground at an angle, almost like the hook on a barrel arbor or mainspring winders. 

What would this be used for?

Are there any markings on the stake?  What brand set is this from?

there are a lot of post manufacture modded tools and accessories out there, some well enough made by master watchmakers to undetermine if factory made or not.

which way does the hook face ? my first thoughts are for setting a ruby impulse pin, clearer picture is needed please

Probably made or adapted for a purpose. Most watchmakes do it.

Here you go. Pretty tricky to get decent photos. The hook is located as if you would be turning the stake anticlockwise to catch something on it with the angled surface running clockwise. The hole goes right through the stake and the pin is circular and pretty much flush with the far side. The hook end is rectangular if you look straight down on it in plan view and like a shark's fin with a slight curve when looked at from the side.
